Hi all

I have wonky feet- the deformity I'm going to describe I wonder if you have/ know anything about.

Both feet want to go over onto their sides on the outside edges.
My big toes want to live under the two next toes
The next toes to the big ones are wanting to claw over and grip at the floor
The arch inside the foot seems like a squashed cave thingy, the outer edges is flat on the floor.

Sometimes the little toes want to do the hitler salute
And fancy doing a bunk up on the middle toes.

The drs have seen ankles of raers going inwards and bending in, but me and me sassy knock knees you'd expect to see that sort or deformity. Sort of an S shape.

Instead Im having a wonky Z!

Julia, thank you so much for bothering to reply! Your feet sound really painful, I'm worried about the ulcer thing because of the rubbing toes.
Richard works in ulcer clinic sometimes and there are lots of treatments and dressings they use to speed healing.

The diabetic team keep an eye on my feet. I have never understood why the rheumies pay attention to hands and much less to feet.
I've got a referral to podiatry I think - will chase it having read your post Julia, its Important

And I thought I had wonky feet!!! Actually, mine aren't too bad these days having scrapped the insoles which simply moved the pressure from the sore bits and simply plonked it elswhere causing problems in other places! As you know I have had quite a lot of foot surgery in the past and the removal of dropped metatarsal heads made a huge difference to foot comfort and mobility.

I am surprised really that orthopaedics didn't do a full assessment of your feet, ankles, hips, back etc before they set off down the knee replacement route. After all it's wonderful having a brand spangly new knee but not much use when you have problems with your feet! It certainly sounds as though you could do with an orthopaedic assessment.

Julia, your foot ulcers sound a little worrying. Hope you are making a nuisance of yourself and trying to get a rapid appointment. Things like this can quickly turn nasty without appropriate treatment. Hope you see an improvement very soon. The sandals and socks sound wacky ... I would stick with it, it could become iconic

Hi Lyn ( forgive me Jenni for hijacking your post with my ulcers )

Thanks for your thoughts, one of the ulcers really did look a bit dodgy and extremely painful but since completely leaving it alone for the past month or so it appears to have sort of dried out, the nurse at the surgery gave me a silver dressing which appeared to aggravate it and tried ( forgotten the name ) an ointment given to me by the Boots pharmacist which was honey based but all to no avail. I ll chase up the podiatry clinic on Monday, for what its worth at my hospital.
